*Ball Pen
A writing instrument featuring a ball point and paste-like ink. We feature several pen brands with ball pens including PaperMate, Waterman, and Parker. If you prefer a traditional writing point, you will love the ball pens in our brands.
*Band
A pen trim made from metal. Many of the pens in our featured brands offer trims in precious metals. The Parker Sonnet, for example, comes with a 23k gold-plated, sterling silver-plated or chrome-plated band.
*Barrel
The bottom half of a pen or pencil. The perfect place to decorate a pen... with a logo, a name or copy. You can decorate a barrel using several techniques including screen printing and engraving.
*Cap
The upper half of the body of a pen. The second perfect place to decorate a pen. You can decorate both the barrel and the cap of the same pen. You can, for example, put the name of a company and the name of a specific project on the pen barrel and put a person’s name on the cap of the pen. A winning combination!
*Clip
The device found on the cap of the pen used for gripping a pen to a shirt pocket or to keep the pen from rolling around when it is in a horizontal position.
*Clip Emblem
A logo or other symbol attached to the clip. Decoration techniques used for a clip emblem include a die-struck emblem, a printed emblem, and a color-filled emblem.
*Crown
Top of the pen. The third perfect place to decorate a pen. |
*Crown Emblem
A decoration technique in which logos or initials can be placed on the crown of the pen. Die-struck emblems, color-filled emblems or printed emblems may be used along with a simple, but elegant engraving.
*Gel Pen
A pen that is similar to a ball pen but uses a dense, water-based ink that allows a smooth writing experience and the possibility of brightly colored ink. Try Uni-Ball Gelstick and you’ll see what we mean!
*Individual Copy
One pen engraving with one person’s name on it; the next pen in the order of engraving would be decorated with the next person’s name. “Ann,” “Barry,” “Carolyn,” etc. Great for company gifts where you can give everyone a pen with his or her name.
*Laque
A finish made from a colored synthetic coating that is applied in several layers, oven-dried, and polished. A clear coat of epoxy is added to protect the finish. Also the French word for paint. For a beautiful look at this beautiful finish look at the Parker Sonnet that features laque finishes in ruby red, ocean blue, verdigris (a fancy green!), and black. Magnifique!
*Matte
A finish lacking luster or gloss. The matte finishes you will find on pens such as the Waterman Expert and Parker Sonnet are nice, subtle examples of these fine finishes.
*Nib
The writing point of a pen. Take a look at the beautiful Waterman Expert and Hemisphere fountain pens with your choice of a two-toned, gold-plated or stainless steel nib. What a great gift.
*Repeat Copy
All pens in an order would have the same name or slogan such as “Grandview Hospital Opening,” “Thanks For A Great Year” or “John’s Plumbing Services.”
*Roller Ball Pen
A pen featuring wet ink and an ink system similar to a fountain pen that is contained in a refill housing like a ball pen. Our brands have the best roller ball pens. Once you write with a Parker Frontier Roller Ball Pen or a Parker Sonnet Roller Ball Pen, a Waterman Expert Roller Ball Pen or a Waterman Hemisphere Roller Ball, you may never write with another pen again!
